1930's ceramic help
hey john
looking for a little help with this peice..
1930's ceramic
unstamped it looks to me like a drainage bowl, in the middle of the bowl the black part is raised on three feet with a hole underneith it giving the impression of a drainge device for washing salad ect..
what do you think of the black decoration round the bowl?
well really im looking to find out what it is and your opinion on value?
thanks
oh and i have this brown ceramic bowl also, looks oriental 1900-1910? signed to the back with a 'v' and what looks like a '07'

Hi
No idea about the first photograph
The black figures look interesting
The 2nd photo the under part looks oriental, but does not have the three marks that would have supported the dish while in the kiln or on the other hand it might be a studio item from Cornwall.

thanks john
the first peice i have done a little research on , didnt find out much but did find out that carltonware produced a pattern in the thirties called 'fairies' its a possible.
the second item does have kiln marks but they are inside the rim on the base and are very fine, hard to see in a photograph.
i agree it looks oriental with the butterflies ect, but as yet i dont know.
thanks again.
