    Where to sell antique silver

I have some solid silver antique sugar tongs - not sure of actual date but I know they are about 150 years old.

Where is best place to sell them?

See the antiquesman, John Nolan or visit his shop on the junction of Portland st and king st, if anyone knows he will.

you will find all the antique shops in southport on this thread

jewlers shops are not included as they normally buy silver on a weight basis.

Your item sounds like it has antique value.

Always get more than one valuation before agreeing to a price.

Now I will teach you something NOMAD,

why would you undermine ice117 intelegance.

no one sells any thing unless they have comparables, 2nd and 3rd opinions.

Some times posters open their mouth and what comes out is not what they meant.

why not post the true meaning of what your meant in your post

not sure of actual date but I know they are about 150 years old.
now this is what the poster asked... then where to sell it.

after the item is appraised then then option of where to sell it is the last part on the agenda.

Auction, Bullion Gold, at an antiques fair, Bonhams, Church Town, or even mealt down etc

If the item is 150 years old and is American the last place you would see it is in ENGLAND.

The forums threads are not for buying or selling. they are just for information.

I designed the antique section on the left side of the home page just for this purpose.
    VALUATION AND APPRAISAL.

If you cannot give a poster advice of what is owned and where to sell her goods. I do not understand why you are posting on this thread.

    Everyone will agree with me
It is reply's on threads that twist and bend the true point of the thread being posted.

    how can this be spam

Why would you get so upset with me for suggesting that Ice117 get more than one valuation?

With the tongues being silver, Ice may want to consider consulting a couple of jewellers.

Anyway I know and have worked for ice117 a good few times and I can tell you she is a lovely lady ( on my friends list) that is wise and clever enough to know to get a few opinions from people so as to get a good idea of value.

    Hi Ice.

Exactly. I don't understand such a response from Bootle Bill, oops I mean Van man, oops again Antiques man either. Yours was sound impartial advice.
