Well that Micky boy certainly repeats himself more than most. His conspiracy theory ends up mentioned multiple times in a thread.

I'll decide...! Trolls have been a common feature of the majority of websites for many years - they don't bother me.

They don’t bother me either especially when they are losing face, losing popularity, losing arguments and are all round general losers that employ bad tactics and dirty tricks to bully people and it works on some people, but it spoils the fun on here when they troll you across all forums and it’s sad to watch and even sadder to have it watched and allowed to continue. Anyway it’s all over now, it was inevitable really.
I am going to try not to bite now ha ha it will be difficult cos they will still kick and scream and say they have won but it’s over and let’s get these roads like Houghton St and Queens rd back to normal ASAP, and fix a few potholes and paint a few pictures of bicycles on the cycle lanes and wipe down the cyclist dismount signs on the Formby by-pass so that it looks nice for them to look at while they ride on the duel carriageway anyway ignoring them. So yea job done I will try not to bite now, but I will have to watch my spaling .

Active travel is coming to Southport - it’s just a matter of time - you will be eating your own words. Cyclists have more priority on the road than drivers as per HWC, so just watch out for us. Pass safely, slow and wide leaving at least 1.5m gap, preferably 2. If you can’t, don’t pass until it’s safe to.
This is what you want though. You want us sharing the existing space. You won’t accept that you shot yourself in the foot with your little Bookface minority group.
We will however get the safety we need, and we will still have more priority over you. Change is coming and it’s oh so sweet.
I’m watching you. I will report you. Got one on video already..!

Yum yum my own words taste delicious, you are right “change IS coming”, we are giving to change the streets back to how they were, “cyclists have MORE priority on the roads than drivers” that’s a new one for the deluded and if you think cyclists are going to purposely ride so as drivers have to drive on the other side of the road to pass then you are as daft as you sound. I don’t know about Facebook as I am not on it but it’s the vast majority of the town, MP’s and the council that voted against this nonsense, and nobody cares about your video hat you are just ridiculous, the changes haven’t come in yet and oooh you have got one already ( what were they doing? ) ha ha good luck with that let us know how you go on we will ALL be waiting for an update as we shake in our boots you ninny.

Dam I was supposed to be not biting but it’s … oh so sweet ha ha .

An extra 50% thinking/braking distance is well worth having, regardless of the speed limit.
Let's not forget that the Highway Code figure of 2secs, is dependent on ideal conditions, e.g. brakes/tyres in top condition, road dry/no oily patches, excellent visibility, 100% sober and attentive motorist, etc....Btw, I had Southport Rd (40mph area) in mind when I posted, hence my mentioning Turning Ln and Pool Hey Ln junctions!

It’s fascinating that these people don’t seem to be able to read and understand what they are responding to.

Ah soft Mick you can’t resist can you. :-)
You obviously didn’t read the Active Travel survey results did you. Maybe you should.
Also, the council did not vote against the plans, they asked for local opinions. The plans haven’t been cancelled Micky, they’ve been placed on hold while being reviewed. The government have instructed councils that they must implement active travel, if you think Sefton or Southport are anything special you are very deluded.
You also need to read the HWC re hierarchy and understand that peds are first, then cyclists, motorcyclists, cars, vans and finally HGV’s. If you don’t know this, you are a danger on the road.
Regarding overtaking a cyclist - they are the rules and the obligation is on drivers. Your choice if you don’t want to follow them, but it’s your license at risk. And if you kill or injure someone, it’s jail time for you. I will ride for my own safety. Anyone that punish passes me to teach me a lesson WILL be reported.
Camera - two, on the bike - one facing rear, one forward. And even though the new rules aren’t yet in place, dangerous driving already exists and online reporting has been available for quite some time.
I’m not a liberty to discuss the case as it could prejudice the investigation.
Now take a breath, relax and live with it.

Yea nobody cares so go and boil your head ha ha

Unable to progress, cancelled what’s the difference, they needed public support and the public FAR from support it.

Sefton have now released a new report on the cycle lane plans. In the report, they say that they have been unable to progress the Southport cycle lane plans as the Government stipulated that any changes needed to have 'broad public support'.

And it looks like they will commit to a token gesture on active travel by tarting up the existing out of town bypass bike lanes . Kick and scream mate .

It's fascinating that these people (obsessive cyclists et al) don't seem to be able to read and understand that much of what replies they proffer proves to be complete nonsense.

You must think we're all as daft as you. The vast majority will have been completely aware that you were referring to the A570.

As for your claim of "50 per cent extra" - in other words one second - is going to make that much difference in the real world, then you are sadly mistaken.

You judge by the road and weather conditions at any given time, not merely your watch's second hand.
